A little late for the wheels but they look good. It says block decked but wouldn,t the vin be by the oil filter?

Correct; if the engine is original the VIN would be on the side of the block.

Owner of dealership said he just went with the owners info. Which we all know is incorrect more often than we would like. He said he pulled the ad and was working on corrections for re-listing.  Danny

IT'S BACK, but the ad looks about the same to me. Just no pictures of the tag and the "X-22 CODE SUPER SPORT" reference has been removed and replaced with "L78 / 396 CI / 375 HP / 4 SPEED". At least he added "NON MATCHING NUMBERS" now (although the Youtube video title still says "Matching Numbers").

Sounds like they may have got holding the bag on this one.  The estate executor may have been told it was completely original.

Hi All,

I was actually considering this car before I found this post.

That said, how well is this "clone" done based on the pics?

And, what would be a fair value based on all that's been done?

I once owned a pair of '69s — SS396(325) and a Z28.  This was back in the 70's (not at the same time.). Tore the SS apart to make a racecar (then sold it), and eventually sold the Z to buy a new truck.  I know all this may lessen your opinion of me for some of you!  . But I was young and stupid once.  Now I'm just old(er).

Nevertheless, and regrets aside, I'd like to own another 69.  I'm a little discouraged by the all the fake/repro/clone Camaros that seem to abound.  But maybe, short of an unknown relative hoarding a survivor in some dark, dingy garage, a "clone" will have to fill my "want" at a price point that will allow my marriage to endure.

Thanks in advance for any opinions (of the value, not me.). And thanks for sifting through al my blathering.

It's a nice car, but in my opinion, it's worth about 10-15k less than the (almost) 55k he's set up as the price. But then again, I don't care for white cars!

I think Ed is on the money. A clean body and interior with any drive train around here is 30 ish, add a real L78, 4 speed, 12 bolt, and other SS goodies. But I would make sure the vin tags and stamps are right. If it was another color ( not red) I would be calling.

Since the dash top was replaced, the VIN tag was removed. Be certain to verify the hidden VIN on top of the cowl.

What tells you the dash top was replaced?  Feel free to PM me if you don't want to publicize the info.  I'm very curious on how to determine 'originality'...

 Original hole for vin was cut out when stamped and has rounded edges and corners. The pic of this car clearly shows sharp corners for the vin window.
