I am starting to collect parts for my 67 L30/M20. The block is numbers matching but I need heads, carb, and an intake. What date codes are "correct" if my Block dates to Mid - January, and the Cowl is the 4th week or March(03D)? Can you go a few weeks before, months before? I saw an intake for sale that matches but it is November of 66. Is there any rule in terms of a correct restoration - like car show rules or any guidelines?  Thanks a bunch - I can't wait until spring...

The heads and intake are generally casting-dated anywhere from a week to a month or two prior to the engine assembly date stamped on the block pad; the carburetor was installed at the car assembly plant (not at the engine plant), so it would normally be dated from ten days to a month or two prior to the car's final assembly date.

I have several sets of heads.  I would be willing to let a set go if it works with your car.  I don't recall dates off hand but can look tomorrow for you.  LMK

OOpps! :o  I forgot I left the ball in my court..if it is not raining I will try to get the dates for you tomorow - sorry

Looks like nothing I have is going to work for you...but here are the numbers anyway:

3782461 C 2 5 & B 27 5 both 2.02

3917291 J 30 7 & F 7 7 both 1.94

3917291 D 25 8 & L 21 7 both 2.02

Those are all bare heads...I just remembered that I have a set of built 462's...I don't recall the date but I'd have to ask a lot for them as I put a lot into them (they were slated for my '67 327).  They are in another shed...if you are really interested I will go dig them up and see what's what.

Thanks a bunch for looking! Don't worry about the built ones just yet, I am far from building the engine yet, just trying to get parts together and find some hidden money!
