I'm new here, I recently purchased a 67 camaro ss/rs 350 4 speed car with factory ac and 12 bolt rear with round radius rod.  My car has a factory one piece brake line with no modulator on the frame.  But all I've read states my car should have it. It it a Norwood car 01c build date. Car is 4 wheel drum. Power brakes. Any input is appreciated.

I'd say maybe, but I've found local camaros at car shows that were SS cars with drum brakes that had the valve and drum brakes.  I'm curious if there is more difference in usage from Norwood to los Angeles. That's one thing on the local cars I didn't look at.  I thought originally before finding the information on this site that the valve was for true SS cars. But that's not true either technically

From some of the articles that I've read, it seems that the A/C option dictated the valve to offset the additional front end weight. Mine is drum brakes and also has the valve.

Can anybody that has the valve state if your car is Norwood or Los Angeles?  And if your car has factory air or not.  My camaro is factory air with SS/RS.  It has the 12 bolt with round radius rod too.

04B LOS, coupe, SS/RS L35 w/TH400, round traction bar, power disc (front), has the valve
05B NOR, convertible, SS/RS L35 w/4SP, square traction bar, power disc (fronts), has the valve
Air conditioning wasn't available with the L35 or L78 (396) in '67.

Thanks Mike, I also noticed in my drawing post that the release date is 7-6-67.
That drawing you posted (L48/A7) is from an 1968 AIM. In the 1967 AIM, that exact drawing is titled 'Pressure Regulator Valve' on page UPC60/A9 and has no mention of L48. In the L48 section of the '67 AIM, there is no mention of that engine option requiring the valve. The only options that required that valve that I can make from the 67 AIM is C60 (air conditioning) or an L35 or L78 big block with the latter big blocks having much more weight than a small block with no A/C. Being the valve for the L48 is listed in the 1968 AIM makes me think that was included with the L48 option package for the 1968 model year. But it still doesn't explain why your 01C with A/C doesn't have it. The engineering drawing for that valve is dated 9-66 so I would think it should be installed on your car.

As for cars at show that have it or not, I would have to look at them to see if they are indeed real SS cars because there are so many clones out there.
  I hope this helps.
