There is a separate thread asking about 1969 Z28 Camaros with the RS option and production numbers.  There are no solid numbers on how many 1969 Z28s also had the RS option, so we are doing this poll.  Thanks in advance!

The question should be:    "Is your 69 Z28 and *original RS*, or was the RS equipment added later"?

I will make a clarification on that.  Thanks Gary.

FOR THOSE THAT ALREADY VOTED - I changed the categories.  So you may have to change your vote.  I apologize for the inconvenience on that but Gary's suggestion was a very good one.

Original here, but I can't tell if my vote was moved or not, as of right now there is only 1 vote for a real RS Z.  Am I the only one??  I don't see any options to change or even check my vote.

Edit:   haha, I figured it out, I removed my vote and then reinstated it, sure enough it now shows 2 RS votes.

If you own multiple RS/Z's how can you place additional votes.

Steve, let me check on that.  I am not sure at the moment.

Edit:  OK I checked, and added the max number of votes to 5.  If anyone has more than 5, send me a PM.  If you have multiple cars and multiple votes, feel free to let us know in the thread with a post.  No requirement for that though.

I once heard that, although Chevrolet did not keep detailed statistics,  it was estimated that about 10% of the '69 Z/28s were delivered with the RS option. Has anyone else heard this? That would make the total about 2,000.

I believe the 10% estimate.. or 1 in 10...  That would be about half of the 'avg' RS quantities applied by the 'statisticians'.. :)

I have never heard anything like that.

Gary, it is hard to disagree with solid number evidence from the database.
And you are seeing the numbers in the poll, right? ;D

Rare to me would mean less than 1000 cars in a model year.

I just voted my all-original X33 NOR non-RS Z/28. RS is about the only option the original (Canadian) owner missed - it has every option you could get on a Z/28 except the tilt wheel, RS, and VE3 bumper. A Canadian-sold Z/28 with all these options is pretty unusual.

Bryon,  hmmm.. so you are contending that a sample size of 26 is sufficient data?   :)   so using our data so far, NO ONE outside the factory has ever added RS equipment to a Z28?? ... :)

PS NO Camaro that I'm aware of is 'rare' in the collector car sense.. and I never contended that a Z28/RS was *rare*...  ALL I said was that Z28's got a lesser percentage of the RS options installed at the factory than other 'models'.. ie..  the SS versions...  :)

Those are my thoughts exactly and why I started that previous thread to begin with because I've had a few people approach me (including a close friend) about the rarity of the RS Z.  In my opinion, it's not.  I believe everyones estimates here in earlier discussions of likely 3,000-5,000 made are probably pretty close and not rare in a numbers sense of the word by any means.   I was never looking for an exact number, just a ballpark, and I think those estimates are reasonable.
Considering there were 20,000+ Z28's made in 69, which is nothing rare at all, it's a pretty good bet there were a good number of RS's mixed in there.
