Low mileage '68 Z? Sounds like everyone's got one.  ;)

CORRECTION:  Low mileage '68 Z? Everyone wants one!  :)

Paul
X2! And I had been told the car only had 19 thousand some miles on it by a local who knew of the car.

I emailed the full size picture over to Kurt for posting - should bring a lot of clarity to the stamp pad.

What's with the two different 3's in the VIN? The one on the right looks like it was done with a handheld engraver. Sure looks pretty beat up overall for only 19K miles. I would have to see it right in front of me, AND with the POP in my hand.. Danny

Kurt, what say you in regards to the pad?

VINCE Z28

Are there legit examples of hand stamped MO's in the date base?

I saw the pic of the car. I'd guess Fathom Blue, but I've been wrong on shades of blue before.

It's the strangest stamp I've seen, but I think it's real. Never seen one like that.

Same color as my 68z. Very rare only on early cars built before Jan. The fathom blue z at MCACN was mine. John

Beautiful car... first time I had seen a 68 painted the color I was stunned, so much so I forgot to take pictures of it.

I have seen original blocks that had the suffix changed and were delivered new as such, the last I saw was a survivor 71 or 72 LT1 vette can't remember if it was ground or obliterated with XXX and new above it?

Is the VIN stamp in a viable location for a gang holder stamp?

I've seen quite a few MO's with individual VIN characters hand stamped.
