Hey guys, how many clips are there in the engine compartment side heater cover for the wiring? Any idea where they go? I don't know why, but I'm thinking there should be two??

Kind of hard to tell, but looks like one at he top for the blower motor? Curious if that was all there was since the starter wires went down the side of the cover and behind the head. Was looking at some pics but couldn't find anything conclusive. The AIM isn't providing any info, but I haven't gone completely thru it yet.

There are two - see your Assembly Manual, UPC 12, sheet A6 (reference from sheet A7); one clip on the top for the orange blower motor wire, and one at the inboard lower stud for the starter harness.

Interesting....must have rerouted the blower wire in '68. My 67 is on the bottom.

Thanks fellas. The pics provided definitely only show the top clip location. John thanks for the AIM info, I'm just getting back in the house so I didn't get a chance to finish looking further than I had in the book.

Gary, I wouldn't do this for just anyone, but you are not just anyone. I went out on this Ohio windy/rainy day just to get you a clear pic off the yellow car's heater box. Not as nice as JohnZ's car, but an unmolested, untouched, original factory setup. I pulled the heater wire down so all could see the factory smashed wire that was clamped under the fender (left side of pic). Hope this does it for you. ;)

Thanks Bentley, that shows it all. The weather is crappy here too, although it hasn't been raining. Whatever you have there we'll get here in a day or so.

Mike, in the 67 A I M it is shown on UPC 12  A8.  There are 2, 1 right on the inboard upper corner holding the entire Harness just above where the Blower motor wire separates out, and another that holds just the Blower motor wire.

On the 69 I am doing now, which is a factory AM/FM car the noise suppressor mounting location is under the heater box so the wire is routed under the heater box then back over, is this correct?

Hi Mike,
Looking at the 67 LOS, the clip that holds the harness is on the lower right and the blower motor wire is routed under the bottom and held with a second clip.
The wire looks close to the manifold but that is just the way it appears in the photo. It is at a safe distance.

James:  I don't believe that is correct.   AM/FM the wire was rerouted under the heater box.   AIM shows double up the wire and tape.   It then goes to a clip on the bottom corner of the heater box like Mike shows.   Then to another clip on the bottom middle of the heater box then to the fan.    No wire up top.

Mike:  On yours, did they leave an empty clip up top?

There are just 2 clips...one on the middle bottom and one on the end corner. Nothing on the top. Maybe it was just a '67 thing?

Sorry Guys & MikeS, I was shooting from memory, which evidently isn't that good.  MikeS, you are right.  I now have my car out of storage, and it is same as yours.  However I have to state, my car has gone through a Ground Up restoration.  OK, that being said, I questioned why I did mine that way, vs. as shown in the A.I.M.  So I went back through pictures I took when taking the car apart.  And Voila, here are a couple pics. the way it was originally.
