Shifter boot

Does anybody care to tell me proper installation sequence on 4sp shifter boot with no console.
Top plate grey, boot backup plate, carpet, floor pan?
The twist is though......on a 69 Chevelle.

Does your setup look like this?   

        

If so.....After looking at these pictures, I think the sequence looks like this...

     1. Floor pan
     2. Rubber boot
     3. Boot retainer is screwed down through boot and into floor screw holes
     4. Carpet is cut to fit up to the inner edge of the retainer
     5. The bezel then screws down over the carpet and into the raised retainer screw holes
