cruise control diagram 68 camaro

That info is in the 1968 Assembly Manual. A paper copy is avaiable from most of the vendors, but you can get a PDF copy for free HERE.

   i had read a 68 camaro cruse control  uses a lever on steering column , mine has a button under the dash ,which is correct ?enclosed is a pic of mine

Yep, the first generation Camaro used the blinker lever for the control. HERE'S more info and some pictures. Yours may be an aftermarket system.

Back to work on the camaro .now the vacuum with chain  unit on fire wall is the gm part used in 68 as well as the harness under the dash .could it be that only the button under dash is after market ?

My 68 camaro (which has been in storage un touched for 35 years n in the process of rebuilding last 4 years ) seams to have a factory cruse control on it but although all parts still on it are gm stock including the button arm that go's to turn sig on steering column  but the  different is my button is under the dash next to convertable top switch  .could a person do a option override to have the cruse button set up this way ?
