I have a '69 Z X33 plate, I am decommissioning from a NHRA Stocker E/S and have a Ques concerning Eng Deckplate Ser #. I had the Orig mtr built by Bob Lambeck out of Ca. I asked him to save the Ser # when he Decked the block, he forgot & cleared off #'s. Is there a way to get it re-Stamped with Orig #'s. I know it has a part # DZ then ? 4 digits added from actual Vin that decifers which plant it came from. Us there a Lust that if I put the 13 digit Bin will display All GM part #'s for Eng / Trans Rear End etc ?? Pics attached from 1st Trophy race, then 1st build as black & 2nd build as wh/blu / blk.

I have a friend that works in theft recovery with the Sheriff. He said it can be brought up long enough to take a picture. I wouldn't restamp it....Joe

That post made me dizzy.. yes as Joe said there is a technique that is sort of a specialized procedure that can make the numbers readable. Ive seen it done on obliterated firearm serials.

Cars built at Norwood through early January have the con VIN stamp on the pad. Around that time, it was relocated to the vertical rib next to the oil filter. It can be hard to read but it may be there.

Learning more and more about less and less...
