Oy. Let's count 'em up fellers....and I'll start.
It's got the very cool "Caution fan" sticker.

I swear - nothing surprises me anymore in this Camaro hobby.  Nothing.

"Concours Restoration"

Incorrect usage of the Term in my opinion.

Looks like Nova console gauges...or is my silver calibration out of whack?

You know, it doesn't mention any claims to high end originality, even down to the "date coded" 350. The balance of the car looks pretty good, with the exception of the missing or misplaced items that could easily be corrected. I'd consider it as a nice modified car, and agree with the misuse of "concours". I don't disparage Mecum by any stretch, I'd rather watch them than BJ any day of the week.

As always, my own opinion.

Steve

I agree.  I'm not a fan of tearing down peoples cars unless it is dealing with vin, tag, & stampings and that to me is not bashing.  I will say that the only question I have is what documentation or proof does he have on the "COPO Special Order Tuxedo Black Paint" comment.

bcmiller

Someone built it the way they wanted it. Probably done with a flip in mind. Too many flippers out there these days, they are starting to become numerous.

Overall not going to say anything bad.

Errors/Very misleading words

As mentioned, the wording description for the color is wrong.  Tuxedo Black was a standard color at the time this car was built.

This was the 132nd car on the Los Angeles assembly line.
Nope. I have not seen the tag. Might be the 132nd car for a specific DAY. Why mention this?

has an odometer reading of 18,055 miles.
OK. So what? Is that the original mileage for the car?  Certified with paperwork to back it up?

Somebody will probably buy it and be happy with it.

This auction company does not certify cars, it only uses the description provided by the seller.  So, as always, buyer beware.

What proof could there be? Black was RPO, not even special and certainly not COPO.

cook_dw

I am fully aware..  My point is there needs to be more proof when comments or statements are made.  It might have special paint on the tag and had stripe color change or fill in the blank.  As Bryon mentioned need to see a tag photo at least.  Still a clean car.  Is it for me?  Nope.  But someone will buy it.

I bet over 90% of the people who want a 1st Gen Camaro don't really care about matching numbers.  They just want a nice car.

rocco376

I don't know about 90%.  If that is the case, I am in the 10%.  If I can't find a matching number car, I'm not buying.

I totally agree.

A 1st Generation Camaro doesn't have to be a numbers matching Z to be considered worthy of consideration........but that's just my opinion which with $1.50 will buy you a cup of coffee.
