GM decal on door jamb

Does anybody know if the GM tin decal that is factory installed on the door jamb of early camaros is in the approximate same place most of the time? I have original doors and this decal seems to be higher on these doors over all the high end restored cars that I have looked at.  Or is there just no set place that the factory set them?
