Can anybody check starter # 1108435? I don't have any listing for this #. It is dated 9 K 21 so I wondering what it came from.
It should have been a 1107365, so now I need to find 365. would the starter be part of the motor assembly or installed on the production line?
  Thank you,

The starter was installed at the car assembly plant, not at the engne plant.

From my Google search, that seems to be a Pontiac starter.

Hers' the link for the assembly process: http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml

1108435 is a 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix or Pontiac Tempest (400 and 455 exec Ram Air)

Thank you all for responding. The bummer is that I replaced the starter myself about 20 yrs. ago, with this Hi-torque unit that my buddy at the rebuilders built for me. Anybody have a 8 E 20 or before 1107365 ?
Thank's again,

Thank's Paul. I have had incredible luck searching the local rebuilders shelfs and core bins in the past looking for the proper numbered parts, I will try Tuesday if not I may have to Pay the price.
