I have a 1968 camaro standard fender I'm trying to see if it is anything that would be original. I know it's not an assembly line fender, but trying to see if it may or may not be a GM reproduction. The guy I got it from said he had it stored away for over 20 years. In the first image near where the fender bolts to the firewall, there is a 04 09 stamped into the metal there. Nothing else, and the sticker that has been gone for some time but can see the shape of the sticker at least. Help please!!

Show the captured nuts on the fender. Originals can usually be identified.

I believe it does not look original compared to my assembly line fender.

I don't have any loose fenders here to take pics of to compare, but show the nut side. The originals will have square nuts.

That pierce nut is not square like my assembly line fenders. Yours is domed and has staked corners which is typical of repro nuts. The NOS fenders I've had also had correct pierce nuts.
