Hi everyone, my son was fortunate and we came across a X77 body Z/28 roller to purchase. Had been used as a drag race car for a while it appears, and the DZ block and trans were not with the car. So looking for the engine and trans for 124379N641541. Also any docs, P.O.P, Window sticker, would obviously be very cool to run across. The car was located in Alabama, and we are going to get the NCRS paperwork to see if we can find the dealer it sold through. Originally Dusk blue with black interior.  Perhaps Kurt or someone has some history on this car?

Congrats to you and your son.  Great color combination and starting point for a full resto or driver.  Have you posted your VIN in the "Orphans" section?  That information will help other folks on the forum to look for your components.  Keep us up to date on your progress.

BULLITT65

Well, according to the guidelines I don't think we are suppose to post our VIN in the orphans section, as it will just clog everything up. I think your just suppose to search your VIN in there. I am hoping someone has info on the car, or remembers "Casper" the drag car.

Well..never intended to point you in the wrong direction.  Good luck with your search.

Probably 70-80% of the cars still out there are missing some of their drivetrains.
The only sane way to handle that is via the orphan pages - where what survives is posted and hopefully matched with a car.
Otherwise, the forum would be swamped with posts/ads for all the cars looking for their drivetrains.

An easy way to handle this is don't create an ad, just post about the car and its condition and put the VIN in the post. The search engines will suck up that info and that's what you really want.
I'll remove this ad in a couple of days.

So for a new post to stay up, can I just change the title to "1969 Z/28 purchased 124379N641541, Less motor and trans"

The NCRS report only tell the dealer it was sold to. It may or may not have been the dealer that sold it because of dealer trades. Nice score Austin.....Joe

No. The text should not read like a classified ad. This text does.
