That car doesn't have either backup connector hole.

Your firewall does not have the reverse switch hole for the grommet.     Also hard to tell if you have the holes for the clips for the speedo cable.    Was your car originally a manual trans car?

LOL but not at you Jim but wondering how many of us have had this. This is what I found today! On my build thread Jerry who has a 07C NOR 68Z noted his hole was where Ed's picture showed used by LOS only. Guess what, that is where our hole was.
With Jerry's info I can only assume there were more than a few NOR cars with that hole dimple 3.5 inches below the ground strap hole used to drill out. I'm supplying pictures of the welded hole easily found behind the under dash mat, and after drilling. With the harness installed one can still see remnants of the weld around the grommet. Turned out fine but it took some time. Also reviewed photo gallery and the hole was not there after media blasting which only verifies it was brazed shut in 1983 or 1984 when it was at a friends body shop for paint. No idea why we/he did that but nothing hurt and its fixed.


Used my first finger to rub around the inside weld and thumb to trace the outside on the tape.
