Well today I'm at a total loss on what or how the back up light switch was hooked up. Why, because where the AIM calls out a .920 to .940 diameter hole to be drilled (dimple location) there is no hole in my cowl. I think I found the dimple or at least it seems to be correct and the NOS underdash mat has a one inch or so hole located where the dimple is. Can someone please show me what they have on their 4-speed 67 or 68 Camaro? When I purchased this car over 30 years ago it was already tore apart so assembly has been, let's just say FUN.... LOL......
Some references: What the AIM calls out for 3C which I think is for the back up harness-

What seems to be my dimple (hard to see in a pic but prominent in person) that has no hole located under the ground strap and zinc screw-

The connection between the two harnesses that is supposed to connect at the firewall-

Chick, if your car is Norwood built, you can take it to the bank that's where the hole was drilled. Los Angeles cars had it in either one of two locations. 3C in the AIM, or just to the left of that at the other dimple. Here's a picture of my LA car. Note the "alternate location" for LA cars.

Thanks Ed! Will have to carefully check to see if that hole was plugged at some time as I only see the one dimple stated as an alternate for the LOS cars. Thanks again!

Chick,

The connector on my LOS '68Z is in the same location as shown in Ed's and Darrell's photos.   ;)

Darrell,

In your photo, what is the big hole below the backup light connector for?   ???

No the other dimple is there just hard to see due to the angle of the pic.

Paul, do you know if your picture posted is an LOS car? Cannot tell for sure but seems to be NOR? It's drilled where Ed had shown only LOS used that dimple. Interesting that Jerry noted his 07C NOR Z/28 is drilled in that location as well as I had posted similar concern on my build thread. I will know more on my car after a more careful review behind the cowl pad.

Sorry Chick, I don't know.  Kurt probably does as the photo is from the CRG "Option Identification" page...  http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml#id

It is a '67 if that makes a difference.

Chick, I found another photo for reference.  This one I know is a '68 LOS car.

Here another pic from a different angle.  As you can see the dimple is still there.

My LOS 68Z is in the same location as Ed's, Paul's and your last picture.
