I too have a set of covers identical to the photos. I too, would like to know their application. I also have a correct set of covers for my 69 BB car. Sorry I can't post pics yet,but correct covers are the same as pictured with two exceptions 1) they are chrome 2) they have drippers. Wire loom location is the same plus there is a bump at rear on L. cover like the ones pictured. The wire loom for the water temp wire is black rubber coated (dipped).

If they are truly from a 1969 engine, they are most likely from a truck or the 396/265hp full size car application.

I have a low horsepower 396 Impala 1969 engine in storage and I am pretty sure that is what the valve covers look like.

they look close to the 69 Camaro but the dr side rear spark plug wire bracket looks wider then on a chrome set
I have.

Many of the BB valve covers look similar but have small difference in the spark plug wire brackets or temp sender wire brackets and locations or the shape of the dr side rear cover.

The dr side cover is trickey because brackets had to be correct to get around the wiper motor, power brake vac line , temp sensor location, etc
