It was white and the first production 001 Z, don't know if Jay drove it or not. BJ web site I'd guess?

Go to B-J's internet site - you can search the auctions by day or type, click on the lot number and pull up the results and the description. It is easy and cool to be able to see them all -

Try this : http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/searchdocket.aspx?aid=525&sd=01/12/2014&ed=01/21/2014
1968 Z28 M21/U17 BRG/W 1967 Chevy ll Nova SS
1969 Z28 X77/M20/VE3 LeMans/W
1969 L78 X66/N66 Cortez/BVT
1969 Z11 L48/M35/C60/C06  1949 3100 5wd 235/6

VINCE Z28

BULLITT65 I don't think the white Z is the first production Z 28 because if you look B J web site under lot #3011 there is no VIN  number, no exterior color or interior, or trans. It says " The winning bidder will receive the first production vehicle" I think Rick gets to pick the colors and type of trans.

Saw that part of the show. They said he could order options, color etc, but it would be the first retail 2014 Camaro.

They showed the 2014 Z 28 get sold but only because it was for charity sold to Rick Hendrick for 650k. Hammer price.

even if the new Z became a collectors item how long would it take to be worth $650k???

For me and you, never. But for Mr. Hendrick, who has done this sort of thing many times, it was probably a done deal before the bidding started.  I think it would look good in the display area out front of his private collection, right beside his giant NASCAR trophy.

I could be wrong, but I think he can write off any amount over the retail price of the car. For tax purposes.

That's true. The excess he pays over the MSRP of the car is a charitable contribution. He can reduce his (or the corporations) taxable income by that amount, although it may be subject to certain limitations.
