68 SS L78 Stripes

Can someone tell me if this the norm or could it have been in any configuration.

1968 SS L78 (Original mileage 9977 & original paint)

D90 stripes configured in the following fashion.

Nose and to the front of the wheel wells is painted.

Drivers side, rear of wheel well to door is a decal and door is painted.

Passenger side, rear of wheel well and door are decals.



69 Z/28 Camaro LeMans Blue (Current Ground Up Restro)
68 SS Camaro L78 LeMans Blue (9977 Original Miles)(Next Ground Up Restro)
68 Z/28 RS Camaro Corvette Bronze (some where down the restro line)
68 Standard Camaro LeMans Blue (maybe a Resto Mod someday)

Im pretty sure that it was just the door that got the decal but let me double check this afternoon on another original paint 68 L78 car.  In the mean time post more pics of that car!!!  Also add some data to this thread please if you can.  BTW awesome looking car from the pic you posted..  Love the LeMans Blue.

Why do you call that a L78 stripe? My HS buddy's blue 327 '68 had the exact stripe  like yours when he bought it new.

It came standard on late 68 SS's the early SS's had the 67 style Bumble bee. Lemans Blue was a spring color and thus would have received the longer stripe. It was also available as a separate option-D90.  
I second the more pics as I have a fondness for LB 68's having had a LB 68 RS/SS 396 in the 80's.

Also does DD Z28 stand for Grotto Blue Z28? If so I love Grotto Blue... pics please!

DD Z28 is the first initials of me and my wife and our other car is a 69 Z28.

Thanks, where did you get the info to confirm this and should the drivers side be the same? I will look at it again.

My original 68.  Yes, driver should be same as passenger.

The part numbers for the stripes (rear of the fenders and the doors) are as follows:

Group 8.132 (Stripe, front fender)

3940135 - Left, black
3940136 - Right, black
3940137 - Left, white
3940138 - Right, white

Group 10.354 (Stripe, door)

3940139 - Black (left and right)
3940140 - White (left and right)
