There are just not too many pics of Hoffman's '71 Camaro out there at this time. Hopefully some will show up as we continue to research the old Trans-Am series.

Not sure if this is your car, as I think there were two Hoffman Camaros built, but here is a scan of a photo I found on page 123 of the book entitled "Camaro! From Challenger to Champion: The Complete History" by Gary L. Witzenburg.  The caption states, "Chevy engineer Dick Hoffman's Camaro built for '73 series."  Could this be a typo and they meant to write 1971 or 1972, or did he also run a car in 1973???  Anyway, I thought of this thread when I was looking at this book the other day.

I don't have a 1st Gen but I have 1971 Z28 RS 4-spd, 1997 Z28 Z4C 6-spd, 2000 SS Convertible, 2010 RS 6-spd

That "under construction" photo is of the second Hoffman Camaro, the yellow one with the black hood and red vee-shaped stripes.

The two frames in the first picture up top were not intended for an F-body Camaro, were they? All the underbody pictures I've seen show that even the raced F-bodies still had individual sub-frames that were not welded together using rail of some sort....which is actually surprising considering how many performance suppliers encourage the installation of "subframe-connectors" for 2nd gen Camaro/Firebird. Wonder why...?

Those look like Corvette chassis' to me. Probably John Greenwood cars.

Ahh, that makes much more sense. Thank you very much...I was just curious

We need pictures!!!!

I was at the Vintage races at Road America this past weekend.  What color is it now?  I only remember seeing a red 2nd generation Camaro.  I'll look through my pictures.
