Hey guys, anyone know what would be the screws needed to install the radio delete cover? I found a number in the 69 AIM and tried to find it on the AMK website and it is not listed. HBC don't offer the screws and washers by themselves either. I was thinking maybe the same screw that is used to attach the Camaro name plate with the grab bar on the dash over the glove box but the washers would be too small.

I checked the screws from my original radio delete plate, the screw assembly is a  # 8-18 x 5/8 '' long,  5/16 hex head with rbw head markings, with a attached 5/8'' flat washer.

Thanks. Are the threads really wide on that screw? Kind of like a cork screw? Or are they tighter? I imagine any screw would work as long as it isn't too fat where it would crack the bosses.

The screw threads are tighter, almost the width of a coarse thread bolt.

I thought it was not a delete if you didn't have a radio. It can only be delete if it is standard... right? And radios were not standard on 69' Camaros. If you have a 69 Camaro that doesn't have a radio, it's just cause the person that ordered the car didn't want one. So they didn't check the box. That's all, doesn't make it any rarer. Just say'in... I think that's what I was taught on this site.... Danny

That's true...but it makes it easy and simple to describe.

Not to be a pain in the rear, but a pic would help if you could manage it. I was just going to test fit a few screws smaller then the bore to see what would work. I really don't want to split it screwing in anything that is too wide. The 69 AIM page 34 UPC 1 B3 indicates part #9427601 but can't find a supplier to even see what it looks like. I have buckets of period hardware I can look thru to see if I have anything.

Here is a photo of an original delete screw (the dark one) and one that I have seen come with the repro radio delete plate. Both hex heads are 5/16". The length of the original screw is 1/2" and the repro screw length is 5/8".

Repro screw and washer. The washer is 1-1/2" overall diameter with a 1/4" hole in the middle.

Thanks Jon. Those are great pics. Wow...that original washer would be hard to find but I probaby have some of the screws that size for substitutes in my bucket O' bolts. I thought maybe using the same screw that is used on the dash plate for the over the glovebox grab handle might work too.

You're welcome, Gary. Yes, the original washer is a very unique piece.

Gary, I am re-reading the thread and I glossed right over the fact that you were asking about the delete plate for a '69. I have to apologize because I had '67-'68 on the brain and the pics I posted were of the radio delete for the earlier cars. Maybe somebody else can help out with your request since I don't have a '69 delete plate. Sorry about that.

Thanks Jon for giving me the heads up. Hopefully someone with a 69 cover will post a pic or give up some info.
