Lean Left?

Seems like a lot of 69 Camaros lean to the left when looking at the back of the car. I never seem to see them leaning right. Is this typical, or am I just crazy?

Never noticed any Camaros leaning left, but then agian, I'll start paying more attention.

What I have seen is GM "A" Bodies (Chevelle, GTO, Tempest, LeMans, etc) from the '60's which seem to have the right rear sitting low.  I've heard all kind of reasons for this, none of which make any real sense.  Best one I've heard was that the "A" body cars were designed to sit low and to the right to compensate for the driver's weight.  Sounds like urban myth to me.

Sounds like bad ride height adjustment...
While there was 1/2" variance allowance, I doubt if that consitutes a tendency or an urban myth.
Of course, everybody and everything leaned a little further to the "left" in the 60s...

Maybe it has something to with all those years / miles being driven without a passenger causing springs on the left to sag a little more than the springs on the right....

Tom may have something...

If all those cars that lean left have original springs and original seats, then the driver's seat springs would also sag a bit, while the passenger's would not...  You'll have to admit, the driver's side seat springs always give out before the passengers...  ;)

Still, the tendency I've noticed over the years in springs is more weakness front to back not left to right.

BTW, come on, Hotrod, my other theory has considerable worth!  If the build date on those 69s is before the end of January in 69, then they would definitely lean to the left.  If after, then to the right.  Janaury of 69 is when Johnson left and Nixon came in.  Chuckle, right back at you...   ;D
