Shallow curve. The deep curve one didn't show up until 1969 on the rear panels only and it was the 9717838 cast handle. If I get time tomorrow I will dig some out for comparison, if not, then it will be Monday.......................RatPack................

Chick, I will try to keep an open mind about this as I could only see it being possible in a black interior car only, otherwise that car has had them changed sometime in the past. I would like to see the cast numbers from the backs of each handle.......................RatPack................

Troy, the car is a local 2 owner car with black standard interior. Guess I might be able to check the cast #'s with a mirror!

Chick, more than likely they will have the "291" handles. I would still like to see other 68's that are unrestored before saying they got the later style knob. As this would be the very first 68 with this style knob..............RatPack.............

I dug through all of my handles and found that the backs of the handles were no way to identify whether they were service replacements or not as the recessed cavity was different on just about all of them in some way or another. Here are some pictures showing differences in the 68-69 #9715291 (frt & rr 68, frt 69)handle, and the #9717838 rear handle for 1969 Camaros. There is one picture showing the original handles along with a repro handle that either came from the "HELP" rack at the parts store, not really sure where it came from, just marked CP on the rear. I did not get measurements showing the amount of offset for each as I am pressed for time today. I will be back on here Monday, earlier if I find the time............RatPack......................

Will try and get back over to the 68 survivor asap.
Here are some pics of a 68 291, 69 291, and late 80's/early 90's service replacement.

Chick, that 20322800 handle was used on 83-88 G-body cars, and numerous other GM cars during the early 80's to late 90's. Wonder if that is the one that was a supercede for the correct handles. I cannot see it working in a Camaro due to the curvature of the handle..........RatPack...............

Rat Pack...
My understanding is the "800" handle has been superceded twice and is still avaliable from GM .
It has the run"deep curve" in it.

Chick / Rat Pack..
See Ed Bertrand's post previously in this topic.  I believe that is the superceded deep curve crank you speak of.
part number 20348200.
Hope this helps.

Guys I verified that the 20348200 handle shown is still the same one available through GM and all of the aftermarket vendors. It is not correct for any 67-69 Camaro, and it may hit the molding on the rear panels, will have to check fitment first............RatPack............
