Le Circuit Mt. Tremblant (St. Jovite) was the seventh race of the 1971 season
and another victory for the Sunoco Javelin. All coverage below courtesy of Robert Barg.

As you can see, I got my qualifying lap in before it rained, and a few of the regulars got caught out.  It was my best Q position of all the T/A races.  Unfortunately, I had a flat at the far end of the track during the race, and had to come in very slow so I didn't wreck the wheel etc.  I probably lost 3 or 4 laps.

We were looking good for a top 10 but it was not to be.  As they say, that's racing.

That 1:46.1 by Donohue in qualifying - simply astounding.

Watkins Glen was the eighth race of the 1971 Trans-Am season. This race marked
the return of Swede Savage to the series and he campaigned a Smokey Yunick Camaro

Michigan Int'l Speedway was the ninth race of the 1971 Trans-Am season. This race
saw Mark Donohue mathematically clinch the championship for AMC with two races left to run.

Thanks, Chad. There does seem to be less knowledge about the 1971 and 1972 T/A events so hopefully we will get that remedied.

Kent (Seattle) was to be the tenth race of the 1971 Trans-Am season. It was cancelled because the
championship had been decided and the promoters probably felt like they wouldn't get a large enough crowd.

Riverside became the 10th and final race of the 1971 Trans-Am series. George Follmer switched over from a
Mustang to drive one of the Roy Woods Javelins for this race and won it. CP&A coverage provided by Robert Barg.
