Oil on intake gasket

Is this oil at the bottom of my intake gaskets normal?  I had to take the heads off to get the rocker arm studs re-done and I noticed that the bottoms of the intake gaskets seem to have oil on the bottoms like the intake isn't sealing correctly there.  It's the same on both sides.

Also, the ends on just one side of the rubber end gaskets (passenger side) are chewed up.  Any ideas?

Looks to me that the heads might have been milled some. Then the intake ends sit on the block with little or no gasket space. One of my cars leaked after several gasket changes. After using no end gaskets and just silicone sealer, no leaks.

I would recommend having your machinist check your intake and retrue as required, heck I'd have him true it just because you don't want to find a leak after you've got it all back together. It looks like a vacuum leak to me. How did your plugs look? If you were having trouble with low vacuum at idle, and fouling plugs you found your culprit!
Intake; I used the Felpro 1256 intake gasket it was the correct size for my 472 intake runners its grey and looks close to an original. I also used the Intake Manifold Gasket Alignment Tool posted over at Camaros.net.

Use Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket Sealant Liquid at your intake runners, it won't be effected by fuel or heat and will ensure a lasting seal.

Is that for both sides, inside and outside of the gasket? Can you use that on water jackets too?  That's all I put silicone on originally was the water outlets.

Yes I coated both sides at the intake ports with Permatex Aviation sealant, and used silicone only around the water jacket.
This is one of the best articles I've read for inatke install and what I followed; http://home.teleport.com/~cosa/vap/tech/inmanifold.htm
