Already at $4,500.00. Am I missing something here? Unless that jack label & deck lid is worth that much you've got me. :P ???

It sure doesn't look like a worthwhile project to me. Already has a bid over $6,000. After you sink about another$80K into it, you still have a non-numbers matching car (without original engine and transmission) maybe worth $30K to $40K.  But some dishonest buyer will probably scrap the rust and swap all the numbers to another car to have them a "real Z10" to sell ................. what a shame.

Here's the part that would scare me. The title isn't even in the sellers name. Here's what he says:

I contacted the land owner and found that the last owner had passed away some time ago but the family would look through his old papers and see if the title could be found. I received a call some time later stating that they found it and would send it to me. Now I have the matching title and started checking numbers. The title is not in my name but still in the last owners name. This is how you will receive it if you win so if this is a problem please do not bid.

It's an open title with no liens shouldn't be a problem or should I say it wouldn't be a problem for me in Al. Some states do have weird DOT laws but these older car titles are usually easy to transfer.

In Ohio all titles have to be notorized when transferred. The seller of the car has to have title in his name then transfer it to the buyer. I would never buy a car from someone without the car being in their name no matter what state. He probably couldn't get title transferred to him since owner is dead.

The executor of the estate could transfer the title. Fill out a few forms, enclose a copy of the death certificate etc. etc.. send it in to the correct department 6 to 8 weeks a new title would be issued.

Point is even if title was taken care of by the estate it has to be signed over to the current seller then signed over to the new buyer. This has to be notorized in Ohio.

Without engine and trans, it is not worth much.

Just in case that happens, here's a photo of the cowl tag...

The title would be the least of my concerns on this one. This car would only be worth fixing if it had the original drivetrain and  it would still be a labor of love. Kinda interesting that it appears to be a 3sp with no console car.

Just curious....what makes you think it was a 3 speed?

I can't see the speedo cable hole in the firewall or the clips. Might be there but I can't see. And the shifter hole doesn't appear
torched.
