Good question, and who knows. I have only seen the mechanical kick downs mounted to the front. The thread where the pic came from was on aftermarket springs so I just assumed it was one since the factory spring is not there. The owner said it was an L48 with M21 but maybe he borrowed the pic from someone else.

It is a kickdown cable in that borrowed photo,  and you thought correctly Dan.

I wonder what the owner is using then to drive the heat-stove on the air cleaner snorkel?  The port for that is clearly capped off with the blue plug. I can't find the link again but wonder if he did a transmission conversion and left the kick-down in place. In any event to answer your question T the port to use for the vacuum advance is still the one in front on the drivers side above and to the right of the larger PCV port.

OK, now back to my original question please: Does anyone have any later production 69 Z or other wise that came originally with a rubber hose only, or did not come with the vacuum line clip? If you have a mid year 69 that came with the metal line please state the build date of your car thank you!

All '69 Z's had the metal pipe from the carb and the metal clip for it under an intake manifold bolt.

John, Do you have the extra port on your vacuum fitting for your "driving set up" on your car?

Well, I'm not John Z...but just four threads down from this one is a thread that has a photo of his driving setup.  I'll include the link for it.....http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9906.0

For my "driving setup", I remove the short hose from the end of the steel line to the distributor and close off the end of the line with a rubber cap, and add a longer rubber hose from the vacuum advance can to the existing white plastic tee in the choke pull-off hose. That tee normally has the rubber vacuum signal hose to the diverter valve connected to it, and I just disconnect the signal hose from the tee and let the hose hang (doesn't matter, as I have a BB in that hose anyway and the A.I.R. pump is gutted).

For "correct appearance", I just remove the long rubber hose, remove the rubber cap from the end of the steel line, re-install the original short hose from the end of the steel line to the vacuum advance can, and re-connect the diverter valve signal hose to the tee in the choke pull-off hose.

The steel clip for the steel line is there, but it's hidden behind the brass fuel line Y-block in the photos.

I think they are originally black.
You may be correct and know the repops are black but thought my originals were phosphate but maybe they were a black painted phosphate clip and the paint came off??????

My original one looks like it has a natural, although gloss black, tempered steel finish, not painted.  It has an "O" stamped on the inside above the mounting hole.

Kinda reminds me of the old metal banding material look.
