What Oil Pan did 302's and HP Smallblocks use with Windage Tray?

  I'm wondering what 302's and High Perf. 327 engines used for Oil pan?   Did they use the standard Oil pan with the baffle in it?  Can a Windage Tray be used in cconjunction with the standard pan with a baffle?  Thanks for any input!

The Z/28 pan has 2 strips of steel spot welded inside the pan that mate up with the curled edges of the windage tray. The strips will seal off the tray sides. You will notice the fit when you try to install the pan - you have to draw the pan tight with the screws as the windage tray assy will hold the pan away from the bottom of the block slightly.

The pan is still available from GM Performance Parts in the catalog. You can download the catalog and find it. It might be $135 or so but I have not bougt one for some time. The only functional difference between the production pan and the current service replacement is the front seal thickness. The current service replacement uses the '75 and up oil pan gasket setup (as do all current service replacements for older pans). You will need the 5 special studs with stand-offs, 5 prevailing torque nuts and the ~$35 tray.

You might want to get the high pressure spring for the stock volume oil pump if you need it for a whopping $4.

I don't know what the current GMPP part number is for the Z/28 pan, but it was P/N 360450 when it was also used for 1975-79 L-82 Corvettes (with the thick front seal). The Z/28-L-82 windage tray that mates with the rails welded to the sides of the oil pan is still available as P/N 3927136, and the main studs are P/N 14087508 (originally P/N 3960312). Photo below is the windage tray (baffle).

Hard to show you now, I would need three photos, the '67 uses a two step pan, the '68 is unique from the '69,

Jerry, Could you take some pictures of the three different pans for each year and explain the difference in the pans. I have a 67 and 68 302  motors on stands but dont know if I have the correct pans.  Also what drain plugs are correct for all thre years and the head marking.
