Howdy
I am trying to locate some Krylon spary paint that has now been discontinued. The color is #1613 Semi-Flat Black, bar code is 24504 01613. This is a great product and has been replaced with a Satin finish with the same part number. The new paint has a glossier finish. Need 6 cans of the older paint. Any help would be truly appreciated!!!  Will pay all actual costs to the Los Angeles area.
Thanks

or this copy from a post on here.

SEM Trim Black #39143 (spray can) is the correct sheen, and is much more durable than the flatter Krylon #1613.  I also saw the part # had been changed to 51613.  Do a search on Krylon and you'll get a lot of ideas.

The good old Krylon #1613 Semi-Flat paint we've used for years isn't available through their retail channels any more - it's been replaced in retail channels by a different formulation. However, it IS still available through their industrial/commercial distribution channel as a "5-Ball" product - here's one of many sources:

Grainger also has it if you have one nearby.

Bought some SEM Trim Black #39143 today, and used it om my steering column....not bad.
Definately not as flat as the Krylon stuff, but not as shiny as the new Krylon Satin replacement for the Semi-Flat.
A pretty close replacement.
I think I'll stick with it.

That's also a dead-nuts replacement for midyear Corvette instrument cluster, glove box door, steering column, column escutcheon and cover, turn signal housing, and steering wheel hub; I've been using it for years. It's also more durable and scratch-resistant than Krylon #1613.

JohnZ, do you think this would work on Camaro inst. clusters as well as a correct color and sheen?

SEM matches the original code PPG 9266. I always stock it. We also always kept 9266 in Duracryl on the mixing bank. If your jobber still has lacquer you can get that as well. SEM requires no AP (adhesion promotor), it's use is optional and I like to use it depending on the application. SEM sprays well and produces a nice finish.

I just got another rattle can, a sudden gust of wind ruined my first project.  39143.  I'm trying to match the instrument cluster.  On another post I had said I think someone had painted mine in the past and it's looking a little rough.  I can't remember what sheen and/or color was best, but I think I was going to try this.
