Distributor batch date?

 Hi guys,
  I need to know the correct date for a # 111169 for a March 21, '68  built motor. Also, would the Allt. be dated by the motor build date or the car build date? Batch date? Car is a 05C, (L340398) Trans. is 8D26. (Quite a spred but all correct)
Any info on the dates would be great,

The alternator would be dated back from the car's final assembly date - it was installed at the car assembly plant, not at the engne plant.

Is your trans a 8D26 or 8C26?
