hi,
i have a  feb. 69 camaro coupe 307- 350th. which i bought new. the drive shaft has a metal balancer ring similar to a harmonic balancer mounted on the transmission end of the yoke which is offset to the rear yoke. i have never seen another one nor can anyone tell me its purpose . was this used for special problems associated with vibrations ? please give me as much info as possible.

thanks

This has come up before and as I recall there are a few, liike yours, documented examples.  I searched but couldn't find the previous posts.

However, you may find these somewhat interesting as they are related.

Picture please?  We used to attach 'hose clamps' to drive shafts to obtain balance. The weight of the screw assembly with a couple of clamps was often enough.....
