Just picked up this intake yesterday and it has a dual bolt pattern one for Q-Jet and the other is for Holley carbs. Any idea if this intake is a fair / good / great oval port dual plane ??
Why are there 2 bolts on the psgr. side of the plenum about 2 inches below where the carb would sit?  What would it take to run a square bore Holley on this beast??
Thinking about putting this on a 70s 454 low compression mill..

Thanks!!

I'm not familiar w/ the manifold, but could the two bolt holes be for a divorced choke?  That is about all that mounted over there except vacuum tubes on a few manifolds (hole all the way through to the plenum)...

Is there  a small block off plate there? If so, could be for an EGR valve

Will take a pic(s) and post up either tonight or tomorrow..  Me wife's birthday gathering of the clan, and, better to not ruffle the calm waters with car stuff on this important day, eh??

Here are a couple of pics of the 2 holes on the psgr side of the plenum??

Wow.  I've never noticed anything mounted there.  But I'm a Holley guy and mostly check those out...

Anybody with an  Edelbrock catalogue who could give some info on this old beast??
Oval port intake from the 60's I believe. Came off a 1968 396 L35 w/ Oval port 215 heads
and a near stock under 400 lift cam..
Thanks!

its not for EGR valve.

Are they machine screw threads or pipe threads?

I don't recall seeing those holes before. Could it be Marine application?

Had a couple of 3/8ths bolts in there.. Believe I have an old Edelbrock catalogue and it'll show something on the intake.
Will get back ! !

I dug out my  old Edelbrock C427 intake BB Chevy , looks similar to yours but does not have the 2 holes or those 3 hump shaped bosses.
I know mine is late 60s to early 70s same one used by Motion Performance on their 427 cars
