I see several repo places advertising 2 types of 4 leaf rear springs...one style they claim is correct...it is made my Eaton and is $200 for a pair. The other style they advertise as "concours", which I guess is more correct...and they are $400. What are the big differences...and which one is being used by most people restoring cars out there?

The original springs have plastic separators between leafs that fit in stamped square pockets. Most repros have plastic separators that snap into holes in the springs. Heartbeat City has the real springs I hear. Not a plug for them, just what I hear. I just had mine re-arched with new separators. $75. I has been fine for over 1 year now. Nothing like original if you can use them.

I think another difference between replacement and correct springs could be in the spring clamps.  I'm not sure on that, but I know that most of the aftermarket clamps have a fold over tab, and dont match the originals which have a rivet.

Gambitt,

Do you have the original 4-leaf springs?  Or, do you need a wholw new set?

I know this is a late reply, but I need the original rear leaf springs.  I have new coil springs, but I'm not even sure those are correct.
