anyone use the HAys 85-103 clutch assy for Z28?

anyone use this setup? its their street/strip dia clutch with 2750 lbs holding pressure.

i tried the McLeod RST , which is a dual disk setup, but it doesn't have sring loaded hubs, and i couldn't eliminate the chatter in my car.

all the while, i thought it was the lightweight flywheel, so i put the Heavy one back in, and the problem still exists...

so i'm getting rid of this mcLeod and going with either hays or centerforce...

now the only other issue is whether or not to try the 10# flywheel again... ugh, i'd hate to put it all back together and have to pull it apart a 4th time. lOL

I bought a McLeod kit once and the throw out bearing they sent was the wrong one.  Chattered like crazy till I got the right length.

Might check to be sure.

yeah, double checked that too...

i got their adjustable one and measured and measured etc....

this RST i got has a floater disk between two organic clutch disks... a real trick setup in my opinion, but there is no spring hub on either disks... the floater supposedly acts as the shock absorber... but it must not be enough...

oh well.. thank God for Jegs... i don't have to argue with anyone about returning it

We have used the Hays #33-610 pressure plate & #40-11 disc with great success for the guys who like to go to the track quite a bit.  If you get into adjustable p/plates, you will need a data logger.

I've used a Hays 55111 disk & 51105 plate from 1980 to 2008. It finally wore out, so I put a new set in. Hopefully I can get another 28 years out of this one too. I think you can't go wrong with the 85-103. BTW, mine never chattered.
