Seller ended listing early on 9-3-08...

???    Maybe he realized it is a 350, he has it listed as a 327 in his auction.

Not sure if anyone can help but here goes... I've owned the car to this engine for 30 years.  I was told it was originally a 302 car... It had the ralley stripes and z/28 badges when I bought it..  But I found this orphan thread which shows it being an ss car..  Mark sold it (somewhere between Monroeville, NJ and Carlisle, PA) and dropped it off on his way to Carlisle...

If anyone bought a 350 68 camaro engine from Mark or junkman60 (from Monroeville NJ) or mdrz28@aol.com with the 18n457232
castings I would really like to talk about buying this engine from you.

Thanks,  Dan

Mark doesn't have any old emails to tell him who he sold it to?

So close.....

Kurt,

I spoke with Mark last night and even though he sold and delivered the engine this past September he doesn't have any record of who he sold it to.  Believe me I was hoping he might even have a name of the town that is between NJ and Carlisle..   I would try my hand at being a detective...   I'm hoping whoever bought it off of Mark is a member of this site or a member might know someone who bought a 68 350 this past September.  Like you said....  Soooo  Close  :)

Thanks,  Dan

After 30+  years apart I found the engine... working out the details with the current owner to get it back to it's original car...   Thanks for the orphan post which got the ball rolling..

Sincerely,

Dan

Very cool Dan!    ;D

Your welcome!  I'm glad we were able to help reunite your Camaro's chassis with it's original engine!  Keep us posted with the future results.

Got the engine and it has been rebuilt .30 over and has new pistons crank turned everything redone.  Amazing.   I am now looking to find a 7801149 may-early june smog setup as well as the closed element air cleaner.  If anyone has any leads in this direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan
