Chris and Paul,

Obviously I was half asleep last night when I replied. I still want to thank both of you for the information, but now I realize there was only one photo. It was late, and I'm old!

No problem Ken!  You can't be that old if you're driving a '68 Camaro!     :)

I used a guy who sells (or used to) on eBay for my 4x6's.  JV Restorations or something like that.  Came out perfect.  I'll see if I can find his contact info.  This was 3 or 4 years ago now.

Just found his email - from 2005!!!  Joe Vijil   joevijil@adelphia.net
And it is jvrestorations on eBay.  Hope he could help you out.  It was $45 each back then.

Great photo Chris!  That's the layout I was trying to described, but a "picture is worth a thousand words".  On my Camaro, there is also a metal bracket that clips into one of the speaker mounting holes (mine is located in the right upper hole in Chris' photo) that supports the speaker wire so it doesn't hang down and snag on something.  Also, my speaker wire is blue in color.     :)

Thanks Paul.
Someone had mentioned those clips to me once at a show, can you post or send me a pic?

Hey Chris -

I finally found a photo of the U80 speaker wire clip (bracket) I'd mentioned...

Paul, thanks!  I have seen that clip before.  Not sure of the application though because it's attached to the speaker and the speaker carries a different part number.

Chris -

I got that photo off Ebay, but the clip is the exact same one as on my original 7300614 U80 speaker in my '68 Z/28.     :)

Hey everyone, sorry to repost such an old post but when I typed in my search words this was the only one that came up. I was looking for pictures of the wiring route, and especially the types of clips used, for running the rear speaker set up. I am going to install rear speaker in my 68, but wanted to try and duplicate as close as possible what it looked like on original rear speaker cars. Any help with info and pics appreciated. Or if this has been discussed already, a link to the forum topic. Thanks

I am currently gathering info for the rear speaker. I have several photos of the speaker, grill and hardware. I don't have a picture to the front but I can take one. The wire was supplied by Chevy and Fisher installed it. It runs from down the right side trunk and through the right channel. It is shown in the AIM.

Mike,
Thank you for the reply. I am in the process of gathering the different hardware pieces to install mine as well. I've gotten the wire portion, and speakers and grille with bolts. So a detail of how they ran would be very helpful for me, and maybe some in the future. I've seen many posts with others asking this question, but no answer. But also, what the different wire holding clips looked like (i.e. the ones that were used for the wire on the passenger side floor and the ones that are used in the truck for carrying the wire). I've seen so many different repop versions I don't know which is even close. Thanks so much.

I'll take the right sill plate molding off to look under and see if anything is securing the wire. The speaker wire you have has the connector on the radio side?
