The front fuel bowl was warped on my 4053 so I used one from a 780 I had laying around. My question is: is there a special casting number I should be looking for to keep it more on the original side? The carb is a 1969 if that matters. Thank you, Joe

Joe - Other than the part number 134-103 stamped on the 4053 front fuel bowl, I believe the only other item found on the fuel bowl would be the patent numbers (photo is from a CRG photo from a 1967 Holley carburetor):

Joe - My 1970 Mustang also has a Holley 4150 780 carburetor, which runs great, although it can be somewhat hard to start if I haven't driven it in awhile.

My Z/28 hasn't been driven in about 12 years. I had a bunch of stuff that needed attention. I did adjust the valve to .026 but I only had 5.5 inches of vacuum. Put them back to 30-30 & now I have between 9 & 11 inches. I had 2 fuel bowls that were warped on the bottom where they met with the metering block. Thank you, Joe

I decided to take the Mustang out for a drive this morning and it started immediately and ran great on my drive around the neighborhood.  Now I have to decide if I want to install the rear axle bump stops I just bought from Summit Racing as the original ones on my 1998 Z28 need to be replaced.  Summit had the GM replacement stops as the aftermarket parts do not fit into the slots that you bolt the stops onto the body. I've always been impressed on how quickly Summit ships their parts.
