So I was able to find a 108-9 dated Kelsey Hayes brake valve with the intent on rebuilding it for my car. This is the valve that mounts on the drivers side frame rail under the door. I was able to get it apart, and completely disassembled. In doing so, I had to destroy the c-clip to get it apart. So I ordered 2 repro valves, both made by OER. One came from Summit, the other from Classic Industries. My plan was to use the new internals for the rebuild of my KH unit. I also got 2 seal kits from Muscle Car Research. Upon getting one of the new OER valves on Friday, I took it apart to harvest its internals. I discovered that the valve only contained 3 parts, the spring, the aluminum tube and its corresponding seal. No outer seal, c-clip or metal washer. I then received the second valve today and it only had the same 3 parts inside. Has anyone taken one of these valves apart to use the internals to rebuild their assembly line valve? Im thinking that these OER units are basically useless as they dont have the parts that the KH units do. Here is a pic of what was inside the OER ones.

Thats how my original looked when I pulled it apart too. Unfortunaltely the c-clip was too far gone and the metal washer was pretty bad. Thats why I figured Id buy a repro one and use its c-clip and metal washer. I circled the missing parts in your photo that were missing from both new OER valves. I wonder where a new c-clip can be sourced? I asked Scott at MCR and he said the same.. get them from a new repro valve. Well it appears that the OER ones dont have the same internals. I think there is another brand that makes them. That one has INL stamped on the face of it. Maybe Inline Tube?

C-clips can be bought at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace hardware.....generally any good big-box location. They uually have them sorted by thickness and/or dimension. you could also try at McMaster-Carr....they carry just about anything you would ever need in the way of hardware. Any of these stores could probably help you with your need. They are also lot cheaper than any "parts house" supplier you may use. Good luck.
