For the life of me, I cannot find the location of the Tonawanda sticker on bb valve covers. I know they are on the passenger side ahead of the oil fill cap. I remember that John Z said there was a template to use for placement. Can anyone tell me where it should go? When I did mine 10 years ago, I placed it above the centerline of the oil fill cap, but cannot find any pictures or John's comments.

I have the March 1969 issue of Road & Track where they tested a 427 Corvette and there is a photo showing the engine from the passenger side and the sticker on the valve cover looks just like the photo posted on CRG for a 1968 Camaro BB:

Thanks, I looked at both, judging picture looks like it is at the bottom 1/3, the magazine article looks in the middle.

Anyone else have an opinion on the placement for 69

The placement is going to vary at least a little.  Don't expect it to be exactly the same on every one.

I would like to see his comments on this. Seems strange to have a template or fixture for a sticker....

I would not have remembered a template if he told me at one of the Michigan Ncrs shows, but mine was placed above the centerline.

These are snips from a very original 1969 L78 Camaro that was owned by Jim at HBC at one point.  I am not sure if he still has it.

It's going to be on that portion of the valve cover but I would also doubt that there was a fixture that determined the exact location. I have personally seen variance, especially on the location up and down.
