Hello All,

Looking at a '69 SS (via the 'Net) and have a couple of questions regarding the trim tag (attached pic):

From what I read, LOS was changed to VN for LA built cars in '68, yet this tag shows 06B which would be the second week of June '69 - am I interpreting this correctly?
Also, the rivet appears to be on top of the code - concern?

I also didn't find any reference for the 'X413' code, or any other three digit X codes.

Anything else you experts notice?

The car is supposedly Jerry McNeish certified and is an older restoration.  It's offered at Alexander Automotive in Franklin, TN.  I think it's probably overpriced, but it almost matches my old '69 to a T, except the interior color (mine was medium green).

Thanks in advance!

X413 is an internal scheduling code used by the Van Nuys plant and doesn't mean anything as far as options on the car.

That 06B is interesting. What is also interesting is the PT stamps on the firewall photo.  PTB stamps (paint, trim, body) inspection stamps were only a Norwood thing. They didnt appear on LOS / VN cars. Well discussed here.

Whats the VIN of the car? That can give you a good idea of when it was built. There is a table here on CRG that can narrow build date down

9L501887 which would put it in September, '68 according to the table I found...

For what its worth, tag looks to me like 09B. PT stamps are still incorrect. Easy fix for that tho

That would make sense.  I can kind of see it now -- sure thought it was a '6'.  The rivet isn't an issue where it's at?

That car was once in Arizona. Its an 09B tag so was built at Van Nuys Sept 1968. Looks fine. Its been through a couple of Mecum auctions over the years. Looks like it has POP. Not sure what happened, in the pics at Mecum 2013 it had the priginal master and brake booster. At Alexander in 2024 is has some chinese repo master and booster.

When taking a screenshot and blowing it up it looks like a 6 to me.
