1969 D90 fender stripe gap

Did the 1969 SS D90 stripe always have a gap where the engine call out emblem would be on the fender? And this gap in the stripe would be where engine CI is located? A stripe with no gap and the emblem on top of the stripe would be incorrect?

Thanks!! I did see that on CRG. I just wanted to make sure there were no anomalies with the stripe before I go attempting to fix mine.

There are two styles of D90.

Early stripe extends about 1" onto fender extension. As of about 2nd week November '68, terminates at the fender extension.
