Yes, they appear to be same as the ones on our "survivor" 68 LOS car.

I believe that the spot welded ones belong in the passenger side.

The brackets and mounting bolts on the two-piece side are painted Chevrolet orange.  The two spot-welded brackets are not painted orange.   If you look at the 68 AIM, it indicates that the two-piece brackets and their mounting bolts were already attached to the engine when the engine was painted.  Maybe you should paint the brackets and mounting bolts orange before you store them away for the future so you don't forget later?

Just to clarify, the shields on both sides are not painted, neither are the small screws holding the shields onto the two-piece brackets...just the two-piece brackets and their respective mounting bolts.

These pictures support Bernie's post about LH brackets being painted. That would mean they were on the engine when it left Flint. That being said would also say that the 2 bolt for those 2 bracket & the 2 installed at the assm line could be the same design but most likely didn't have the same head markings. That would explain why I have 2 & 3 bolts of the same design with different head markings...Joe

I took this picture recently of Skip's 69Z 21K mile survivor reviewing and confirming that the screw and bottom section of spark plug 2 piece heat shield (drivers side) that bolts to block was installed prior to paint at Flint and bolt's captured washer was in fact a star type locking washer.
