I'm seeing cars claiming to be double COPO's. 427 and special paint. Would that make a car with just a special paint trim tag a COPO?

COPO is just some special order.  Could be for fleet purchases or cabs or in some cases, 427 engines.   COPO's were not just limited to "high performance" special orders.

Thanks, So any car with a special order is considering a COPO?

IMHO, a true COPO required engineering input and specified equipment not available in production. 'Double COPOs' are Camaros and Chevelles with 427 engines and COPO 9737.

Special paint was processed through Central Office but was nothing more than paperwork.
Learning more and more about less and less...

Thanks William, I just see these cars listed as double COPO's with special paint and it got me confused. I appreciate your input.

Yup, special paint is a special order, but no engineering is required, so not a COPO.
