What's up with these prices?  One actually sold for $171 on BAT:

While decent restorations and in all due respect to the sellers, they don't appear like exceptional restorations...

This same topic was discussed on my other car site. 'My' view is, just because a car is overpriced, does not mean this is the market. Plenty of good cars sell for a lot less...

A guy I went to school with had a theory if you can't sell something you raise the price. He proved it many times to work. He once had a motorcycle sitting in his yard for weeks with a reasonable price. No one look at it. He washed and waxed it and raised the price by a good bit. A guy that had driven by every day stopped and bought without haggling.

So true! Sometimes I list trinket stuff on epay for cheap pricing "just to get rid of it". No responses. I did the same, raised the price by 20%, and voila! sold.

Those selling prices are going to cause havoc with the 1st gen Camaro market. You can disagree about the price, I certainly do, but when they sell for that much owners will think to themselves that it's a lottery ticket. Are we  having Camaro shortages? Hell no.

More inflation:  https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-chevrolet-camaro-z-28-36/

Deep pocket investors/collectors that see these and other cars as a commodity are driving these outrageous prices.

it is no fluke with the 69Z, just look at the prices from the recent Mecum auction, 80-170k, some certified, but many were not. Some had original motors, many did not. Classic cars, motorcycles, Guns, lumber, gasoline, real estate,  inflation is here, it is a roller coaster folks hold on tight.

Austin hit the nail on the head...  The government cannot print dump truck loads of $$$$$, pass it out to everyone for nothing (making them NOT want to work), without it making the $ we've already earned over the years worth nothing!   Welcome to socialism 101... Venuzuelan inflation.. and the beginning of the END...  :(

Everything is overpriced these days.

There are a lot more "speculators" that have jumped into the classic car market, basically screwing up reality.
