Looking for information on correct location of U17 console-Oil Pressure Line-hole through firewall on April built 1967 SS. Attached are 2 photos with dimpled firewall options. A picture from an original L35 or L78 with U17 option would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If he doesn't reply in a couple days try sending a PM to member Mike S.  I believe he has a 67 04B L35 from the Van Nuys plant.  I can't recall if it has U17 though. According to the 67 AIM SBC and BB had the same firewall hole location, appears to be at the dimple that's 1.8 inches off the center line of the car.

Nothing definitive, but from limited observation (including my own LOS car), NOR followed the AIM firewall piercing location but some (can't say 'all') LOS did not. Been a few threads on that over the years, here's a couple:

Here are a couple of pictures from my 67. The locations are same for big and small block cars.I don't have an exact measurement but you can tell where the dimple should be by these pictures.

Is that a NOR car pictured? Can't quite make out the assembly plant on the cowl tag.

My car I posted is a Norwood build. Yes. Why?
See reply #4 - at least some LOS cars did not have the firewall penetration in the AIM-referenced position, but NOR practice seems consistent with the AIM. There's a couple of links to previous threads discussing that detail.

Thank you guys for all your input. I have looked over all of the information and am still in question due to the resolution of all the pictures. I can not tell for certain, if most 67 SS L35 or L78 04D LOS cars had the firewall piercing on one of the dimples-1.8" of CL or somewhere close. The AIM seems general and appears to have the fully assembled heater box obstructing the lines path where it describes.  If anyone has a clearer firewall picture of a 67 L35 or L78 LOS car with original U17 it would be greatly appreciated.

My pictures give you the best idea. In my second picture the oil line is still sitting in the hole in the black circle.

OP is seeking pics of a LOS car detail though.
I can measure mine to reference it more accurately if that helps, but it's a '69 not your model year.

My car is a LOS but an L48 and 11B build.  OP did you try contacting member Mike S?
