I know this photo has been posted here before, this is the Penske '67 Camaro on the tech line ? at Sebring in 1967. I only noticed this today, the inner section of the taillights, the trunk lock, & the stock fuel filler block out panel are missing. would this have been some trick to increase venting through the rear of the car ? at later races that season, those parts are back in place.

There had to be a metal bulkhead between the trunk and interior so there was no airflow from the interior into the trunk. Therefore, the openings as seen on Donohue's Camaro above wouldn't seem to offer much in the way increasing airflow through the car or some other "unfair advantage".

What is the hair pin for in the left tail light?

It is on a leash and removed from the pin that holds the trunk lid down on the LH side. The one is removed on the other side as well but is dark and hard to see.

Check out the toggle switch....lower passenger side...close to the center. Wonder what that does?

I have wondered about that toggle switch myself.  I'm not sure what it would be for.

+2 Battery shut off. Nowadays it is a requirement, and it is a larger switch with the lettering 'OFF'

Mike,

Vick Campbell raced the car in the Nascar GT series in 1968 and I believe that damage occurred at the Sandhill 250 at Rockingham.

Jon, how can I make this smaller, when I resized it on my Mac, I went as small as possible and it is still huge !
