Cook,  a good thread with great pics, plus you didn't wreck or break anything. (might of hurt your pride, stalling it a couple of times) but your man enough to post it anyways.
Glad you had fun , WTG. :)

I wish I'd gone, if only to see all the Novas, Camaros, Chevelles, etc..  sitting in the NCM... :)

I'll be up there in 2 weeks and out at Beech Bend for the TriFive Nationals.  We're expecting around 3000 '55, 56, 57 Chevys..  including some 7-second drag '57's.. :)  and I'll probably be back on Labor Day weekend for the Corvette Reunion...

Gary

The tri-five nationals sound like a blast, would be fun to attend that sometime with old 56 full custom, because I enjoy watching the purist's have a cow, lol.

Also great pics of the event cook, looks like a blast!

If you cant make fun of yourself then you shouldn't be allowed to make fun of someone else..  At least that is my mindset.  FWIW I think I may have found my issue with the bog/fall on its face off the line issue I was having.  Now just need to make some adjustments with the shifter, Check the lash on the valves and replace the clutch, upgrade the ignition system...   ???  Here we go....!!!..

its only a simple nudge to fall off the cliff that is racing, lol. I know the feeling, just raced my bone stock 17 camaro and now drag radials and a cold air intake are on the way, lol. Always have to go faster!

If a man gets VERY drunk one night... then goes into the forest to BURY all of his money!   The next morning when he awakens, he will be in the same situation as someone who has spent a few years drag racing...

...  Neither fella above will have ANY IDEA where all their $money$ went.....

Id rather be addicted to fast cars than fast women, drugs or drinking..  You can exchange any of those with drag racing in your little scenario Gary.  If you are wanting to get into ANY racing for the money then you are doing it for the wrong reasons.

69Z28-RS

you're right Darrell, there are many many ways a man can throw his money away besides drag racing, but my point was that there are also many ways to enjoy the car hobby outside of drag racing...   RESTORATION and PRESERVATION is my preference...  :)

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.  I enjoy preservation.  Restoration is ok and can be fun until it becomes overly anal.  I enjoy driving and racing my cars more than anything.  Why have it if you cant drive it the way it was meant to be driven.?.  I get no kicks from putting something on a shelf to walk by and look at.

Not to dig up an old thread but the episode aired over the weekend.  Great interview with a legend Ken Barnhart with his original ZL1 Camaro.

HA! I thought thats what you guys in the midwest had to do 6 months out of the year !   :o

While I don't take the time to go to a sanctioned track, there are enough back roads here to go WAT year round. 8)

Last time I checked Tennessee is in the south.

BULLITT65

Sorry. Midwest or areas that experience the 4 Seasons.

There used to be a local track everywhere. I'm glad you guys are keeping them open with active participation back there . Rock on..🤘
