One thing I don't get is that it says it's a service engine so it's not from a specific car yet a couple of the pics show a stamped VIN which is a valid VIN from Camaro ZL1 #59??

Maybe I missed something.

Darrell, too many pics to post (165 + a video). Here's one of the photos of the partial VIN for you...

Did you try the link I posted?

It works for me using Google Chrome. ???

Ad states the owner of the engine is Edward Sanderson. When I was chasing ZL1s back in the '80s Edward Sanderson was the registered owner of ZL1 #18 N609510 at the time. Same location. He was the second owner.

Same guy or incredible coincidence.

I'm aware of some of that group, certainly not all of them. Some ZL1s dropped off the radar in 1969, never heard from again.

As for #59, found intact in the '80s w/o engine. Believe it only showed a few thousand miles at that time. It's the ZL1 that had white D96 stripes on one side, black on the other. Featured in the March 1987 Hot Rod, again in Hemmings Muscle Machines May 2009. The Hemmings feature states they "over-restored" it but made several errors in doing so. Maybe they have since been corrected.
