No. If you blow it up you can see it's a funky 9 (see top picture attached). You can also make out the partial VIN of 19N, but even if it were a 0 for 1970, that same main case casting number (3911940) was used for the MC1.

A Google search turned up one other MC1 with a 3911982 main case (see bottom picture attached). It was dated C-17-8 or C-17-9 (The owner said it was an 8, but it's difficult to tell since the last digit is also funky!)

It appears there may have been more than one main case casting number used for the MC1.

No, not really. But after looking at funky 6's, funky 8's and funky 9's over the last 50 years, you get to recognize (USUALLY) what they look like!

I found another one - dated B259.

Thanks Russ, I updated that page.

Hi Kurt. We might be on two different pages? This page still only list 3911940?

I think you changed the page for the side cover?

Another interesting side note, CBTN page 289 shows MC1 as having same case numbers ( 3911940 ) but different internal gear ratios, with 1969 Chevelle only having 1st 3.03:1, 2nd 1.75:1, 3rd Direct , Reverse 3.02:1.
