69 SS generator wiring question

My car is a 69 SS 396/325 auto. Wondering what wire goes to the GRD on back of the generator. I'm sure it's a ground but was there actually a wire there and if so where did it go to? Of course l would like to know size, color etc

 I don't think there is a wire that goes to the 'ground' post. I checked my 67's (L35) and neither have a separate ground wire on the alternator. Mounting to the motor may be ground enough.
